CLUBHOUSE & BAR

We offer complete flexibility with the Clubhouse, located in the historic Spookhuis, and al fresco dining under the spreading branches of the 400-year-old milkwoods.

Enjoy breakfast from 8 to 11am. From 11am the Clubhouse offers an a la carte lunch menu of light eats. We keep it simple but authentic in the relaxed spirit of Coot Club: BBQ roast chickens in the Weber Grill, pizzas cooked in the wood-fire oven, refreshing salads, homemade burgers and the like.

An hour before sunset we ring the ship’s bell – guests are welcome to join us on the lawn or jetty for sundowners. Here we share the dinner menu of the day – informal, home-style dishes, sharing plates for two.

In winter we get cosy with lit fires in the Spookhuis, and books on hand. Meals get more hearty, but remain simple, authentic, local. Ideal if you’ve spend the day exploring Stanford’s culinary scene, and feel like an early dinner, and staying in.

HOME COOKING MADE EASY

Every cottage has an outdoor BBQ for you to enjoy that most traditional of South African past times, and we can have your meat pack waiting in your fridge, with or without accompanying salads.

Or pop one of our prepared meals in the oven: Jam-packed with fresh ingredients and lovingly put together in a local kitchen, putting an authentic home cooked meal on the table has never been easier.

Our suppliers are carefully chosen with a real connection to the land and water: Charlie supplies our meat and Trish our trout packs, all stamped with provenance.

Guests are also welcome to raid the kitchen garden for seasonal vegetables and herbs (if the porcupines haven’t got there first!)

TASTING TERROIR

Return from a walk or ride on the beach to an ice cold local beer, or a chilled glass of Walker Bay Chenin Blanc.

Summonsed by the ship’s bell! End each magical day with celebratory sundowners at the jetty, or under the sprawling branches of the milkwoods. The wines and beers on offer here are almost all spawned by the superb terroir of the Overberg.

Like one in particular? We will arrange a special visit to their cellar, book time in the tasting room, or create a bespoke route. Winelovers can expect a busy schedule!

EPICUREAN STANFORD

Stanford has a deep rooted foodie culture, sustained by fertile soils, freshwater springs and the proximity of the ocean.

It has attracted food artisans, experimenting with homemade ice creams made from top quality local ingredients, delicious charcuterie, award-winning cheeses (including a vegan range) and of course, fantastic wines.

Stanford is also home to some of the best, most characterful restaurant experiences in the Cape, from the intimacy of dining in Madre’s Kitchen, to acclaimed country cooking at Manor House … the classic hospitality of La Trattoria to fine dining at Springfontein Eats, where two Michelin-star chefs hold sway in season.
