IN A NUTSHELL
An eclectic mix of traditional cottages and contemporary boathouses that keep within the strict regulations that make Stanford so charming. The accommodation at Coot Club does nothing to detract from the natural environment. The Boathouses in particular make the most of the magnificent views across the lagoon to the imposing Maanschynkop mountains.
With a nod to the sailing fraternities; the Boathouses, Port, Starboard and Stern, are fabulous nautical-themed homes ideal for relaxed holidays on the water. The Leeward Large and Leeward Suites (previously known as the Stone Cottages) retain the charm of a typical hideaway tucked into the Milkwood forests with beautiful outdoor seating areas.

PORT – 3 BEDROOM BOATHOUSE

Port is made up of three bedrooms, two main ensuite with lagoon views on each side of the living areas, and a third smaller twin bedroom with separate bathroom. The house is ideally suited to a family, or friends if you don’t mind a coin toss to see who gets the master suite. The snug can accommodate additional children on sofa beds.
An open plan lounge, dining and kitchen with vaulted ceiling adds to the airy and spacious charm that flows seamlessly out to the lawn, fynbos and lagoon beyond. A wood burning fireplace completes the atmosphere for the chillier nights in winter.

Our Starboard Boathouse has two bedrooms; one master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and spectacular views across the lagoon, and one smaller twin bedroom with a separate bathroom, making it perfectly suited to smaller families. There is also a cosy snug area with daybeds with which can be converted to beds for extra children.

The Stern Boathouse has two completely private bedrooms on either side of the living area and is the perfect spot for couples looking for a getaway together but with ultimate privacy. On the port side is the first spacious bedroom with ensuite bathroom, whilst the second bedroom is on the starboard side, also with an ensuite bathroom.

Lawns is a spacious two-bedroom house with three bathrooms and a mezzanine ‘dorm’ area in the loft. Perfect for families, there is a double volume living and dining area with glass doors that open onto a large front veranda, as well as an upper deck with panoramic mountain and lagoon views. Outside, there’s a built-in BBQ, a firepit and a seating area, perfect for enjoying sunsets, sunrises and everything in between.
Lawns Cottage will close on 31 May 2024 to undergo extensive refurbishments. It will reopen on 01 September 2024 as Lawns.
